Charlotte Lucy Cameron Wilson died on 28th December 2000 when members of the Burundian Palipahutu-FNL ambushed the bus that she was travelling on, just outside the Burundian capital Bujumbura. With her that day was her fiance, Richard Ndereyimana who was also killed. In total, twenty other people died with her, including women and 4 children. As yet, no-one has been prosecuted for these deaths.
Hello,
My name is Catherine and I am Charlotte’s younger sister. It is hard to believe that five years have already gone by since Charlotte’s death.
My sister meant so much to many people. I created this website because I felt that it was important to have a place where we can all remember how Charlotte lived, and not how she died. I encourage everyone who knew her to enjoy these memories, and to share their own.

I have just read an article in The Times about richard wilson’s book titanic express and read about charlotte on wikipedia and this website. It must have been very hard for you. My thoughts are with you and your family always.

Hi Catherine,
I work at BBC Three Counties Radio – we cover Beds, Herts and Bucks. I have just read about Richard’s book Titanic Express and looked through this brilliant site. I was wondering whether you could ask Richard on my behalf if he would be interested in speaking to our lunchtime show presenter next week about the book and of course about Charlotte. We could do the interview over the phone – I just need some contact info for Richard if he is interested. Please let me know via email your thoughts on this. Congratualtions on the site – it really captures what an awe inspiring person your sister was.
Many Thanks,
Georgia Mann
